What is an AI-native workspace?

Picture a gas car with a phone taped to the dashboard. The phone is smart. But it cannot steer, and it cannot see the road. That is most AI today: a chat box taped onto software built before AI existed.

Notion, Airtable, and Drive added that chat box after the fact. So the AI is the taped-on phone. It can talk to you. It cannot really reach your data or do the work.

AI-native is the electric car

An electric car is built around the battery from the start. Everything is designed for it. AI-native means the same thing: the AI is built in from day one. It can see your company's data and take actions, not just chat.

That changes what the AI can actually do.

What to look for

• Can it see all your data, or just the open page?
• Can it change records and send things, or only write text?
• Can it run on its own, or only when you ask?
