Parse invoices and receipts
Scan emails for receipts and log vendor, amount, date, and category to Expenses.
The problem
Receipts land in your inbox as PDFs and photos from a dozen vendors, each laid out differently. Someone opens every one, hunts for the total, the date, and what it was for, and types it into the expense sheet. It is tedious, easy to fumble, and always a month behind at close.
How the agent does it
The agent watches your inbox for anything that looks like a receipt or invoice and reads the document whatever its layout. It pulls the vendor, amount, date, and category, writes one row per receipt to your Expenses database, and keeps the original file attached so the source is one click away at audit time.
Setup
- In Settings, connect the inbox where receipts arrive.
- Open or create your Expenses database with Vendor, Amount, Date, and Category columns, plus a Files column for the original.
- In the AI chat, describe the agent: when a receipt or invoice arrives, read it and log vendor, amount, date, and category, and attach the file.
- Set the trigger to run on incoming email.
- Forward one receipt to test, then turn it on.
